Simone is another of the teenage
participants to my self-portrait workshop. The subject of most of his portraits
is his gaze, the power in his eyes. Contemplation of the world from his inner
world. Loneliness was also expressed, but through his gaze he deeply connects
to others.
In this group picture below, Simone’s loving
gaze (far right) brings hesitant Olmo (far left) into the picture, so that the
picture will express the union of the group.
Even with the black hood, Simone’s eyes
still look like those of an angel…
Simone is now 18 and dreams of living in
Australia, in the immense landscapes where his gaze can travel freely and
continue healing others.
